Great British Railway Journeys Series 2 on the way: confirmed
Mark Boulton did a Google search for Michael, found his official website which contained an e-mail address for him, sent an e-mail thanking and congratulating him on the series and within 10 minutes got this very nice reply back :
Dear Mark
Many thanks for your positive response to the railway series. I am glad that you enjoyed it. I am delighted that the BBC has asked us to make a second series. I am hoping that it might repeat the first and I am discussing whether we could bring out a book in time for the second series. It could be a good thing since copies of Bradshaw’s are very hard to find! We were lucky to get one from an antiquarian bookshop.
Michael
Thanks for that Mark..

I’m very glad that the BBC are going ahead with a second series of railway journeys with Michael Portillo as the presenter. I can say that I can’t remember when I have enjoyed a series so much. After the positive response to the first 20 episodes I’m sure that a second series will be a winner for the Beeb.

Great news, only problem is we have to wait till next year for it, i hope the bbc repeat it or bring it out on dvd.
The idea of a book to go with it is great, it has given me ideas for places to visit this year.

Splendid series, the in-land version of Coast, so please – when can we have the DVD? Before the next series I hope?
You were superb Michael and perhaps you have found your true vocation – informative, humble, knowledgeable.

This must be the most enjoyable, pleasurable and informative viewing I have experienced in many years. Michaels relaxed and informative presentation was a delight. The Settle Carlisle and Cornish programmes bring back happy memories. Well done BBC and roll on the second series!

The series was most interesting glad to see they are making another! Would be nice if they released it on Blu-ray, it was after all broadcast on BBC HD and the quality was brilliant!

Great programme, wish they would either repeat the whole lot over 2 or three days, or release it on dvd.

I see that a book is coming out on 6 January 2011. No sign of a DVD of the first series yet though. Shame as first series showing on BBC is very infrequent now. Epsisode 8 shown yesterday (4 July 2010) but no sign of episode 9 in the schedule.
